First,
start by acquiring a shiny C5 Corvette! You'll want to give yourself
enough room to open the driver's side door and maneuver yourself around
that side of the vehicle. To make the interior removal and installation
easy, be sure your working area temperature is 70 degrees or higher.
This will make the plastic interior parts more pliable. Do not perform
these installation procedures during very cold weather. Cool temperatures
make the interior parts brittle and subject to cracking!
Next,
check to make sure you received your C5Solutions column lock bypass, instructions
and a 12 Volt cigar lighter adapter (not shown).
Then,
prepare your working area by putting the car in gear (or Park), setting
the parking brake, moving the driver's side seat to the rear-most position,
and moving the tilt steering to the highest position.
You
may also want ot put an old sheet on the ground to protect your knees.
You
will need a T-15 torx bit screwdriver to remove 4 screws.
FInally,
make sure that the key is removed from the ignition to prevent any electrical
problems while you are working under the dash. It is not wise to
insert the key until instructed to do so. Some folks recommend a flourescent work light to help see what you are doing (especially with black interiors), instead of using a flashlight, which can be hard to position.
